FOOD FESTIVALS ARE GOOD FOR THE SOUL

When you're looking for culinary inspiration you're certain to think it is by going to a food festival and market. From modest farmers markets to local food festivals you're destined to learn many gastronomic delights to become savoured. A few weeks ago my husband Simon and I gone to the Exeter Festival of South West England Food and Drink, which was kept in the centre of Exeter around The Exeter and northernhay Gardens Castle Courtyard.

This's the 6th year operating for the Festival, and that is the biggest of the type of its in the region, and also its best to sell. There was more than hundred stalls by local manufacturers, cooking demos by top chefs as well as Live music on the Saturday and Friday evenings. The Festival was influenced by neighborhood Michelin star chef Michael Caines, that kept things organised in the food preparation demonstrations where there was numerous head to head cook offs between local top chefs, incorporating a special guest appearance by Matt Dawson - the winner of Celebrity Master Chef.

Aside from the thrilling cooking demonstrations there were a lot of other fantastic sights, sounds and scents to savour. The many food and beverage stalls showcasing local producers have been a sight to find out, and better but the majority of them provided samples of the products providing you with the possibility to see before you purchase. I was obviously on the search for cows' milk free items and I wasn't disappointed - a few stalls catered for goats' and sheep cheese and also, when asked, most stall owners have been pleased to go over the components and manufacture of the products of theirs with me, giving me serenity of brain.

And so the next time you visit a regional food festival marketed I'd absolutely suggest taking a while from your day to check out it - you will not regret it. And also do not overlook the more modest, but as informative, area farmers markets for the weekly dose of yours of soul food.
